Instructional Goal(s)
What are the teacher’s measurable goals, as directly related to the subject area GLCE’s or HSCE’s, Common Core, and/or School Improvement Plan as described in Domain 1? Note: Goals can be individual or developed in conjunction with departments, grade levels, and or Professional Learning Communities. Instructional Goal(s): -At the beginning and throughout the year, I will evaluate the levels of learning that each student is at so I’m able to help each student succeed. -I will use different instructional methods throughout the semester to determine what each student responds to the best. -I will always try to incorporate the use of technology (graphing calculators, desmos.com, apple tv) in most of my instructional methods. Strategies: How will the teacher specifically implement the goals identified above? -I will try to provide opportunities for high and low achievers to boost self-esteem, develop positive self-attributes, and enhance their strengths to help motivate learning. -I will try to facilitate independence in students thinking and action through self-evaluation of own work and re-teaching what they have learned. -I will also provide frequent positive corrective feedback by making students aware of specific aspects of their performance that need work, reviewing concepts and asking questions, and having the students correct their work. Students will work for mastery before moving on. Activities: What will the teacher specifically do to ensure that students are successful? -I will design and utilize learning activities that engage students in active learning. -I will provide meaningful and authentic learning experiences that help learners apply course concepts and achieve course objectives. Measure (Data Driven): How will the teacher specifically measure each goal? (i.e. pre/post tests, common assessments, unit/chapter tests, portfolio, etc.? -I will start out every chapter with a pre-test of concepts and objectives we will be learning. -I will use that data on the pre-test to see what areas the students have prior knowledge in, and what areas that I may need to focus more on. - I will use common assessments, chapter tests/quizzes, daily assignments and unit post-tests to measure my instructional goals. |
Classroom Management and Environment Goal(s)
What are the teacher’s measurable goals, as directly related to Domain 2? Note: Goals can be individual or developed in conjunction with departments, grade levels, and or Professional Learning Communities. Instructional Goal(s): -Maintain my johnkriegl.weebly.com site. (syllabus, classroom expectations, and lessons plans are easily accessible for students and parents) -Make Explain Everything videos for anytime I’m gone so students will be engaged and have classroom instruction even on days that I’m not physically present. Strategies/Activities: How will the teacher specifically implement the goals identified above? -In the first week of class, I will establish and teach the classroom rules and procedures. Students will need to understand the guidelines for appropriate and inappropriate behavior, and specific routines for accomplishing daily activities. -Students will be instructed on how to use my webpage to enhance their educational experience. -My classroom respects all school rules as outlined in the Kingsford High School agenda book. Progress Toward Goal: What steps have been taken or activities implemented that show that progress has been made toward reaching goal. -Lesson plans are updated weekly. -Syllabus with classroom expectations are posted on my webpage. -Khan Academy videos are linked for my AP Calculus students. -I made a explain everything video (posted it to my Youtube channel) for all example problems in pre-calc. -I will monitor the hits on johnkriegl.weebly.com to see that students are using my website. |
Professional (Integrating Technology) Goal(s)
What are the teacher’s measurable goals, as directly related to Domain 3? Note: Goals can be individual or developed in conjunction with departments, grade levels, and or Professional Learning Communities. Professional Goal(s) (Integrating Technology): -I will create a Quizlet database for my pre-calculus and ap calculus students. -I will link all Khan Academy videos on my webpage for my ap calculus students. -I will make explain everything videos and post them to my YouTube channel of example problems for my pre-calculus students. - I will continue to develop proficiency in technological areas. - I will assist my math colleagues in order for them to become more proficient in using YouTube, Quizlet, Desmos and graphing calculators. Strategies: How will the teacher specifically implement the goals identified above? -I will continue to support technological instruction through attending workshops, 20 minute PD’s, podcasts, and ongoing tech update seminars (MACUL). -I will continue to improve teaching skills for all students’ by attending workshops and seminars on educational strategies, by professional development with our district, and by online websites. -I will teach my colleagues who want to learn how to screencast and develop their own YouTube channel by presenting at the DIISD-Wide Professional Development Day on October 15. Activities: What will the teacher specifically do to ensure that students are successful? -I will use creative lessons plans that incorporate the latest teaching practices that incorporate technology. -I will implement good teaching strategies that I may learn in the workshops (MACUL) and seminars I attend. -I will present at the DIISD-Wide Professional Development Day on October 15 on screencasting and creating a YouTube channel. Measure: How will the teacher specifically measure each goal? -I will measure my goal on technology by how much I am able to implement throughout each semester. -I will monitor the hits on johnkriegl.weebly.com to see that students are using my website. -I will measure my goal of helping colleagues out by surveying how much they use technology in their daily instruction. |
Professional Goal(s)

Professional Goal(s) (Integrating Technology): -Take a graduate education class to further my education. Strategies: How will the teacher specifically implement the goals identified above? -Taking EDUC 489-384 from Louisiana Tech University Activities: What will the teacher specifically do to ensure that students are successful? -Technology Readiness -Knowledge on Common Core Standards. -Knowledge on College Readiness Standards. -Links between Explore, Plan, and ACT tests. -The ability to analyze data from the ACT tests and make the necessary changes to the curriculum to benefit the students of KHS. Measure: How will the teacher specifically measure each goal? -Class was very useful and acquired a lot of knowledge that will benefit my students in the future. |
